EMF Geoscience, Inc. is a privately owned geological consulting business located on the outskirts of Marietta, Ohio. EMF Geoscience offers a diversity in services that can meet several geological needs from land evaluation to seismic interpretation.

OUR HISTORY

Previously operating under the name Eastern Mountain Fuel, our company recently changed the name to EMF Geoscience, Inc. to better emphasize our focus on geological studies.

The company was founded in 1976 by Geologist Patrick J. Burns with the goal of providing well-site geology services and developing future prospects within the Appalachian Basin.

After working alongside Patrick for 15 years as a well-site geologist, Senior Geologist Robert Thomas Sr. purchased Eastern Mountain Fuel in 2003 and relocated the company from Parkersburg, West Virginia, to Marietta, Ohio.  Since then, Mr. Thomas has expanded EMF’s consulting capability to be more inclusive of different basins and services within the geosciences, while pursuing data to further improve the company’s original goals.
